We exclusively use Hydrolyzed Collagen II- found in cartilage; it is primarily made up of the amino acids, glycine, proline and hydroxyproline. Hydrolyzed Collagen is also often referred to as Collagen Peptides or Collagen Hydrolysate. Hydrolyzed collagen is derived by denaturing collagen into smaller amino acid chains by heat or enzymatic processes. When it is hydrolyzed it forms into a gelatin. Hydrolyzed collagen has been shown to have some therapeutic benefits and should only be used to supplement and not replace essential proteins.
